I was the only BK representing this past weekend.  Lots of Eggs though.  We took 17th in Ribs - cooked on the keg, and 22nd on the Shoulder cooked on the big smoker.  This was our first comp so lots to learn. Plus by the time we got to turn-in, sleep deprivation had hit big time. I made 7 racks and all but one of them was fall off the bone tender, which is a no-no in comps, so i was forced to use my last rack for turn in which was not the best.  I think having my grate on top of my diffuser (i use a cast iron pan) was a big issue.  It was lots of fun though - other than the heat and the sleep deprivation.

Here are a few pics:

CC, 1st comp is the toughest  Wink

Sounds like you made a good go of it and should be proud of your self Cool  It takes a lot to make everything come out right and on schedule Roll Eyes  I'm betting you learned a whole bunch in that 1st comp!

Congrats Shocked

Nice job. You should put some greenery in that turn-in box to pretty it up a bit.  Wink

it was an MBN event so they said no decoration.

Trying to convince my bud to let's just get a trailer full of BKs (BSK) and we can actually get some sleep.  Overnight we put 4 butts on the regular smoker and 1 on the BK.  With the Pitmaster iQue & the dedicated port, never had to touch it for about 7 hours. had to load wood in that smoker every hour.
