BBQ is all the same basic idea.  Throw some meat onto the fire, cover, get drunk, pass out, wake up and 14 hours later, eat.  This is not a highly refined art form.

Honestly, I have no idea.  Minnesota is a mystery outside of the Twin Cities!

Thanks for the welcome - I am so glad to have found the BSK - I was teetering on the edge of the BGE and fell the right way...

Welcome aboard Cakelady.  I only get to post on this board every night when my wife goes upstairs to watch "Cake Boss" and I finally have access to the computer.  Grin

Hookemhorns did a post on baking a coconut cake (see "What's Cooking") and Uncle cooked an angel food cake on the cake on the keg.  It seems to excel at grilling, smoking and even baking, but I don't think you can do a wedding cake on it.   Grin

Thank you all for welcoming me!  I told my boss that I was getting a "Bubba Keg" and he laughed for quite a while.  Can't imagine what he'd say if I changed my log in to Big Steel Cake.  Shocked

But we all know that I will get the last laugh in when my BSK arrives and I show up at work with a couple of pork butts pulled and ready to eat.  I might just have to buy the trailer hitch attachment.  But maybe not since I'd have to hook it up to my Subaru Baja.

One thing I will say that I LOVE about Minnesota - Dry Aged Prime Beef!  I used to work for a restaurant supply company in CA, (and Costco too), and have never had steaks like we have here.  They are incredible...the stuff of dreams.

They are closed minded idiots (did I just say that?? YEP!) and they can't see the usefulness of other types of cookers.
