Bubba Keg rusted out on bottom, pic included

I've had this smoker for about 7 years, it has spent roughly 80% of it's time on my uncovered patio.  I have always kept the vent on the top covered to keep water out after each use.  I have also kept the ash cleaned out.  Looks like water must have leaked from the sides or somewhere else.  I moved this time last year and have not used it since the move.  I am planning to smoke a turkey so I pulled the grill out for use and this is what I saw:



The inside seems ok so I'm going to use it. What a disappointment, I know nothing lasts forever but dang, I thought I was keeping water out of the unit by keeping the top vent covered.

Should be covered under the 10 year rust warranty.  Call Broil King for replacement parts.

  Thanks for the tip.  I called them and he asked for a model #, my grill only has a serial # tag on the back with a build date of 1/2009.  I emailed the rep a picture of the serial # tag and the Keg where it is rusted out.  I purchased it at the end of the season as the last Bubba Keg prior to them rolling out the new name.  Hopefully they help.

they sure better!  If built in 09 you should be in the 10 year.  I got my bottom replaced this year for less rust that than!!!

I sent the rep my info and he told  me his supervisor said at that time it had a 3 year warranty on the fire box. He said I’d have to purchase all new parts. Does anyone have a copy of the warranty page from the manual?

I live in Pennsylvania.  I actually have an extra bottom for a Broil King Keg 4000. 

Find out if the base would work with your Bubba.  I'm pretty sure they will. 

You cover the cost to package it and shipping and it is yours for the holiday season!
