Not twenty minutes ago I put two nice butts on the Keg for tomorrow's Memorial Day meal. One is seasoned with my Wild Citrus rub and the other with a local seasoning, Leblanc's Gunz & Roses. Before seasoning both butts were rubbed down with some Steen's molasses. Using hickory lump with hickory chunks and the Keg is at about 225 degrees for now and they will most likely be on there until tomorrow morning.

Must stay hydrated on hot days!

I took the butts off the Keg about 2:00pm. They were on the Ketg for 23 hours and most of that time at about 230 degrees.  Probably tomorrow before I get to check and see how much lump it used.
While they cooled down enough to handle I took a few laps around the pool and then came in to pull them. Pulling these were more like rubbing them between my finger and they were falling apart. Not much waste either.

The bones basically came out easy and clean.

This one is the Gunz & Roses pulled with no sauce.

Sauced

Mmmmmm........... It's delicious!!!!!

Wild Citrus pulled no sauce.

Sauced and ready to eat!

Served pictures later. Working on a potato salad and cole slaw is made and in the fridge. Time for another cold beer!

Thanks! I was really good but when it came time to eat I kinda fizzled with the picture taking. I was fixing my granddaughter's dinner and forgot. I did manage one decent picture of my sandwich.
