I've been chewing this over for a bit, I want to do a fairly open throwdown to allow folks to show off their keg skills. Show us what you can do with your keg! Cold smoke to deep fry to meals for 100, a complete keg meal or the perfect chicken thighs ... show us what Keg Mastery means to you! The judges will decide the winner!

*I'm changing the rules slightly for this one, please read below
*I have now won 5 keg throwdowns and am stepping down, for a time at least from entering and won't be entering this one. Time for some new blood, new ideas!

•   Pics are due by 10/08/17 8:00PM central time
•   Voting will be from 10/08/17 to 10/08/17 8:00PM central
•   Items must have been cooked between 09/13/17 and 10/08/17 and cooked on the keg
•   One entry per forum member
•   Up To 5 pics will be submitted
•   At least one pic must be of cooking on the keg
•   Please provide a dish title and a description. Please keep dish titles brief and concise, but please also provide a dish description to any length. Feel free in the description to talk about meat cuts, techniques, seasonings, etc. Sell your dish.

•   Try to remove any distinguishable things from the pics.  Plates, buildings, counter tops, etc.

Send your entries to swhite2@gmail.com I will respond after I receive your entry.  Please provide your forum user name in the email as well. If I do not respond then I didn't get it.

Broil King has offered this prize to the winner!!!
$50 bucks in accessories.  Take your pick:

There haven't been any posts to this thread. I hope 'Mastery' in the title wasn't off putting. Let me expand a little bit.

The keg is fantastic and versatile, it can do just about anything. In your creative hands what cook on the keg are you most impressed with?

I would suggest moving the deadline out, busy time of year for many.
good idea though

Today is the first I saw it.  Somehow I missed the original in my "unread posts since last visit"

Nice Idea

We could move the entry deadline by a week perhaps. It would be better for me as well, that's my sauerkraut weekend. Are any opposed?

Making about 200lbs of kraut that weekend. It's only really 1/2 day of work to make that much I guess, but travel time to mom's house, cleanup etc... When It's done I'll take probably 2 gallons of fresh, make some pork and kraut and keep the rest for fresh eating. I'll post some pics.

[If you are wondering why Bob is offering slave labour it's because I sent him some of our kraut just after it was canned. Apparently he enjoyed it.  Grin]

Sure, I'll post something like that, for the sake of the tradition.
