I have wanted a duel fuel range for years and finally got one installed this week. I found a used Jenn-Air with gas top and electric oven. The current model of this thing is around $2500, mine is ten years old and I got it for $250. I know a guy and was able to get a  gas line put in the kitchen for only $300. I sold the cheap stove I had for a quick $100 so this upgrade came in at $450.  Grin

I had a ceramic top and I really didnt like it. Not enough power and I can also now start really using my CI pans

The oven is much better than my old one too. More features including convection, higher cook temp and lower hold temp, it even has a bread proofing setting.

The convection can be set so low I can even use it as a dehydrator for jerky. Im super stoked!

Duel fuel is definitely the way to go.  Can't beat a gas cook-top and having an electric convection oven is big plus over a gas oven.
Gas + cast iron = great cooking

I sure have been enjoying the gas top! Here is last nights dinner, an A&W Triple Teen.

Popcorn has also been awesome. I have a hand crank atove top unit about 6qt , popcorn cooks twice as fast as on the ceramic top I had.

I can cook two eggs on about 3 minutes where my old unit took 6 minutes just to heat up.
