Was at my local bbq supply store yesterday and saw the smoke ware vent cap for the big green egg.  anyone tried to modify it to fit the bkk?  the store owner said that it gave more precise air control.  going to go out and measure the top of mine today and see if there is any possibility. link is below.http://smokeware.com/collections/chimney-caps

First, I am certain there is a way.

I don't see it as easy however, when you remove the cast iron vent currently there is just a flat flange, no lip. Leaving the lower half of the vent and just removing the upper it might fit or be made to fit, personally I would guess it not to be worth the effort. This is my opinion with out having the unit in my hand, inherently unfair. The BKK vent seems to me to work quite well, the BGE it is one part I thought looking at a floor model to be sloppy. If you could get it to fit cleanly it would be a nice look, but to my mind functionally no better. It isn't very expensive and perhaps it is worth the experiment.

I am curious to see if anyone has used one.

Have you seen this...

It is a beautiful cap and the TTT. I don't have one but many do. The TTT is close to the same price... and the cap likely would push it just over... Just tossing ideas out there.

I think the diameter is much smaller in the green egg.
Whatever you do to adapt it will make it look different, hence reducing the primary goal of getting something that looked nice...

When your top vent gets gunked up you will have more precision
