Newbie Question Alert

I have been looking around and have noticed some use a rain cap of one sort or another.

Are they necessary if the Keg will be covered when not in use?

What makes the best cover?

Got Pictures?

I use a 9 inch pie pan, or sometimes the otherwise useless OMC water pan.
Neither blow away.

i use a shanty cap like this

I also use the Broil King diffuser inverted on the rack over the top, particularly when I'm shutting the keg down and it's raining or going to

Or... for rain ...
one can also use an inverted, solid aluminum pie plate, available at dollar stores.
If very windy, put a weight on the plate (e.g. small brick)
