D&S Southern Comfort BBQ proudly presents Ottawa’s $10,000+ BBQ weekend at the Capital Fair on Saturday, Aug 29th and Sunday, Aug 30th

This year the Smoked to the Bone BBQ Championships will feature a Pro 4 Meat Competition, an AVC Amateur Championship, a new Bacon Championship, a Mystery Box Challenge and of course the People's Choice competition.  If you like BBQ then the Capital Fair is the place to be.  Full Fair details at

Admission to the Fair is free so this will be a great weekend to bring your family and friends to come celebrate. Why not take advantage of the Midway ride-all-day bracelets special?  Regularly $36, they are featured for only $18 while quantities last.  Bracelets are good for unlimited rides on any one day.

Attention Pro Teams
Pro teams are invited to arrive on Friday, August 28th after 2:00pm.  Meat inspection will be immediately available.  The Cook's meeting will begin at 7:00pm sharp followed by a casual social in the Judge's Tent.

Standard turn-in times will prevail.  Chicken at noon, Ribs 12:30pm, Pork at 1:00pm and Brisket at 1:30pm.

Those participating in the People's Choice* may begin at 2pm and provide entry samples through to 4pm.  Winner takes all, $500.  This promises to be one challenging day!

Please note: site selection priority will be based on when you complete your entry so we encourage everyone to sign up now. 
All sites include one 15A duplex and access to water*. 
   * to connect to water bring your own hose and “T”

Attention Amateur Teams
All amateur competitors will be expected to arrive at 6:00am Sunday morning.  Amateur cook's meeting and meat distribution will take place at 7am.  Turn in for chicken will be 12:00pm noon and ribs will be 12:30pm.  GC wins a Traeger Jr. smoker (approx $500 retail value)

The Mystery Box Challenge
New for 2015, this event is open but limited to the first 6 Pro or Amateur teams who enter.  The GC will receive $500.

Amateurs wishing to enter the Bacon or Mystery box are invited to arrive Saturday morning and may camp out Saturday night in preparation for Sunday's Amateur event.

The Bacon Championship
The event is open to both Pro and Amateur teams alike.    Bacon GC will receive $500.
