So, what happened and how do we know this won't happen again?

that was THE longest outage in the history of the board. I really wish they would have posted a landing page ... changed the logo image ....  something that said they were aware, working on it, no ETA if that was the case.

Let's say the board has been up 6 years ... 2190 days, and was down for 14. That's 99.993% uptime. Bad things happen that's why we have IT folks. I'm just glad they were able to salvage the database. Not just scrap it and start again (I'm gonna reinstall your Windows, k?) like they often do.

So, the site was attacked and the link between user info and posts was corrupted. Compounded by that was the fact that the hosting service would not recognize our credentials and we had to argue for several days with them to prove that we owned the site.

So, next steps now that the board appears to be stable...

New framework... I liked the bones of TAKF, any other forums you participate in that are particularly slick?  Hosting pictures internally would be great.

Finally, moving the forum to a server that we own is a must.  Some of our problems were related to that, and remnants from InZone's ownership. It was working, so I didn't even know the credential debacle that was at the end of the rainbow.

They are closed minded idiots (did I just say that?? YEP!) and they can't see the usefulness of other types of cookers.
