Sounds like a tough grueling trip home for you Rich, glad you made it safely. I am hoping that you ate a cup of chili though and not a cup of child, lol! Grin

Taylor and I made it back to Canada in one piece. 3052 km, about 87,000 calories and an overnight stop in Louisville. FYI - I had a Caesar salad for dinner. Uncertain what lettuce actually tasted like before that, I'm pleased to report it was delicious.

Spent nearly two hours parked on I-65 south of Louisville. I took RG's advice and tried to outsmart my GPS leading to a delightful detour onto some of Kentucky's narrowest roads.

In any case, really glad we got the chance to meet everyone and I will be updating images and such tomorrow.

I can't thank Caj enough for all of the amazing work he did to pull this off. Incredible stuff.

Made a quick stop at Lockhart's BBQS in Detroit for a late lunch. Always worth it. Sausage and cheese plate plus a cup (not bowl) of child and some cornbread. Killer stuff!

Glad you made it home safely! I'm glad everyone got back home safely!!!!
I'mk through unpacking the truck but still have to unpack boxes and my clothes. I am EXHAUSTED right now!!!! Grin Maybe I'll be back to normal by Thursday. I hope everyone like everything in their goody bags.

I am truly glad to have met everyone I met this past weekend. Even Taylor McPherson. You know Steph's other son she didn't know she had.  Shocked Shocked Lol......  Grin Grin Grin

Yes, and please make sure Taylor eats his veggies and don't forget he likes bananas for breakfast. Tell him I'll miss him and hope to see him at next years family reunion.

Talk about your Keg exposure at Kegtoberfest 2014. The lady that made the birthday cake for Rich and Bob replied to a Thank You message I sent her.
Cakes done by Betty
"You are so welcome. Im glad everyone enjoyed it. It was nice meeting you when I dropped it off.  It was funny yesterday I was heading into work and seen a truck that had one of those grills strapped to it. Thank you again!"

That's funny!!! I wonder who it was that she saw.
We also had several people that were walking on the walking path behind the lodge and Kegtoberfest area to inquire about the Keg.

I hit a traffic jam someplace in Kentucky. Added and hour and a quarter to the ride.

Glad you all made it back safe.

They are closed minded idiots (did I just say that?? YEP!) and they can't see the usefulness of other types of cookers.

Wow, that was an unfortunate typo.

Yes, chili, not child. Yikes.

Well, I'm feeling much better after 11 hours of sleep. Not aching as much today. Last night even my finger tips were hurting. Lol....... That was from jamming them on bolts that I was removing from the trailer jack I put on the trailer tongue to be able to unhitch it from my truck.

Glad everyone is back home safe and sound, if not a bit heavier.  Thanks Caj for all your hard work, and thanks to EVERYONE that showed up to make this first ANNUAL Kegtoberfest so awesome!! It was so great to meet everyone and put faces to names and really get to know folks I've considered friends for years.  Rich and Taylor, what an awesome effort y'all put up and really helped make this a special event.  Loved every minute of it(that I remember anyways Roll Eyes )  Looking forward to the next one already!!

Good idea! I love those things!
I just cut the cheese for my wife! No, not what you're thinking! She has a meeting tonight and I just cut into cubes some Tillamook(Oregon made)Vintage over two year aged Wite Cheddar. Pretty good and would be better with a good red wine.
