I like what Beav did with his team by making a thread and post everything team related in to.  Kind of nice to be able to go back and read through it.  Going to start one here for us.

We just added a couple more to the schedule.  We will be cooking in Oconomowoc WI.  Its an unsanctioned event being run the same as a KCBS event would be.  All certified judges.  Should be good practice.

Also decide to take a little road trip to Iowa to get in the Mason City Up in Smoke contest.  Going to meet Fat Freddy there.  Big contest with around 65 teams.  Should be a good test to see if we are on the right track.

Next will be Kenosha WI Grill Games.

We will do a rib burn in Lodi WI in early September that I bombed in last year.  Need redemption.   Grin

May add another one depending on how these go.

They are closed minded idiots (did I just say that?? YEP!) and they can't see the usefulness of other types of cookers.

Big boys of the big boys will be over here in Mason City. We are doing most if not all of the extra categories. Didnt know if we would do them or not but got my comp generator in yesterday so we will. It aint a Honda if you are by me but it is supposed to be just as quiet. Be sure and go to the KCBS website and sign up for the Reesers potato salad contest. Last year they were telling people to sign up and run to the grocery store and turn in store bought, just had to turn in potato salad. We only did the main categories last year but thought we would try potato salad, dessert, anything butt, and Bloody Mary contests this time.

Let the brisket rest for 7 hours...I've heard that that is the key to VICTORY!  Grin

Finished 5th overall. 4th ribs, 4th brisket, 6th pork, and 10th chicken. 15 teams. Was a good day.  We need to work on our chicken.

Get yourself an attitude, white hair and talk with a drawl and you'll soon be the next Myron Mixon.
