Hogs,

Right now I'm planning on staying within 4-6 hours travel time from Atlanta.  I wish I could range further out, but that means more time off from work and increased travel expenses.  Maybe next year  Undecided  I gota win something first.. LoL

Boat,
I think I speak for all of us when I say.  I can't think of a better Keg-a-holic to represent us.

Hey all, we made it back in one piece Grin

I guess we did OK for our 2nd comp.  They only had 3 categories, chicken, ribs and pork.  We took a 4th place in all 3, Cool so I feeling consistent if nothing else! LoL

I learned a little bit about backyard comps too.  Like its not all amateur teams!?!?  5 of the teams that showed up were clearly well seasoned and equipped BBQ catering businesses with 5 to 30 years of experience  Its no small trick to beat someone thats been cooking BBQ for a living for years.  I expected to see that level of skill in pro, but not backyard?  Not mad, just sayin..  Backyard can be tough too Huh

It was still a really good time!  Everyone was real friendly and it was all for charity Cool  I caught a few more mistakes in my cooking process, so well be that much better next time.  We have some pics and Ill put those up tonight

Thanks,
Boat

Boat,
That's great! Good job. 4th place in all three categories is nothing to sneeze at. I can't imagine a BBQ contest without brisket though. Man, maybe I've been living in Texas too long. Wink

Do you have a team with you or is it just you and the wife?

Me neither. It's always chicken, spare ribs, and brisket here.

I'm with you guys! Brisket should be required.  It's my favorite thing to cook!!!  But here in GA pulled pork rules instead Angry

I'ts just me and the 1st Mate really.  We had some friends help some in our 1st comp.  This one was just us Cool Not sure now if I'd want a big team Roll Eyes

Thanks,
Boat
